Igr With M7 Bios In Avalaunch
« on: February 22, 2004, 04:01:00 AM »

Hi guys,

I have a situation where I have a couple of boxes that can only run the M7 bios(long story dont ask why). I want to get them running on Avalaunch but then there is no IGR possiblities (that I know of anyway). Is there some way I could get IGR running on these boxes or will I have to switch back to Evox as the dash?

Just not an option. It MUST be on the M7.

Its on two 1.5 boxes with focus chips. Some of the games simpy dont work with X2 bios only with M7. I put it down to how they handle the video signal. X2 make their own translation while M7 uses M$.

Everything I've read (and common sense wise) says that IGR will not be part of Avalaunch.  The X2 BIOS implementation is the best solution, and proven working 100% of the time.  Seriously, how many problems have you read about with EvoX's IGR (rhetorical question)?  And also, how many other dashes have IGR implemented (*ummm, none*).  Saying that a game will not play with an X2 BIOS is not a good excuse; I know many people who have 1.4-1.5 boxes that have no issue playing any game, including some obscure games many people probably don't play.  Anyways, if they still want to use an EvoX BIOS they should stick with EvoX, unless they want to give up IGR (which I doubt).  beerchug.gif

XBtool 1.0.19.b2 is available for testing...
  • Embedded eeprom patch for X2 4981 (see info above).
  • Fix: embedded EEPROM checkbox checked when the BIOS did support that function.

I have the same problem as xprezz. I have modded a couple v1.5 xboxes with the focus video chip, and it just will not work with any of the xecuter BIOS' that I flash it with. I have xecuter 2.3b pro's inside. The xbox will flash green and red and have no video at all. The only BIOS I have gotten to work has been with the M7 BIOS.

So now I am using Evox as the Dash on those 2 xbox's because that's the only way I can have IGR. So I, just like xprezz need to know if there is a way for IGR in avalaunch. Cause I want to switch those 2 xbox's to Avalaunch and still have IGR capabilities.

I know that a lot of you have not had any problems with the X2 bios and I hadnt either until the focus chip came out. I have ONLY seen this problem on boxes with focus chips. Works everywhere else.

What we need is the name of a specific game that does not work.  Then we can figure out the issue from there.

Simple: have one bank with M7 set to boot evox and one bank with the latest x2 set to boot ava...

and for the last time: AVA WILL NEVER HAVE SW IGR

it is evox code and is in evox bioses and dashes ava will never have the code and if they did it whould never be inplemented due to the lack of need.

Your trying to use X2 4977 on a Focus
Use 4981 or 4979 (I think it's been compatable since 79 up actually)

Edit although there are 2 games I know of that don't like the X2 bioses
