Sorry, I didn't say it was the samsung drive. My bad. I've found some +R media that the samsung will play and some it won't here if that helps anyone.

I checked out dvdrhelp first for xbox media compatibility as I wanted to basically get a player that would play every disc I had, and now I've found a handful of my DVDs don't work. Bugger.

I will just have to be more careful which media I buy I guess, or ftp them over first (or burn to new media etc).

Thankfully i was able to mod my burner (lite-on 401s) with a firmware that supports modification of booktype, and now the xbox reads the dvd+r's fine smile.gif

yay for the mod-ing communities! heh smile.gif

For some reason, i cannot do an autoupdate. I get the original status message and the xbox hangs. All other online options work fine. Version V0.48.60.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Same here... maybe the server is down?

I too cannot do an autoupdate.  I have two moded Xboxes both running 48.60 and every time I go to update dashboard the system locks up on the "Looking for last version" message.  I tried to revert one of the boxes back to an older version but it didn't help.   I have no problems downloading skins or any other Internet options.  I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the files it dumps in the Z: drive.  I'm just guessing though.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Everything was working fine for me but then all of a sudden it won't allow me to launch any .xbe's including games and applications. It just freezes when I try to alunch one.

I HAD a similar prob.  Only thing that I changed was disable ALL quickstart options (enablelastrun/righttrigger/etc...) For some reason that was causing the prob.  Never tried it in previous versions, so I dunno if it's a new bug or an old bug for my specs. Hope thins help peeps with similar probs

v1.1
x2.2 pro

I'm a newbie to xbox modding (I just ordered an xenium chip), and i plan on using avalaunch on my system as soon as i get my chip installed.  However, there seems to be quite a few bugs with the newer versions of avalaunch. would you guys suggest I start with an older more reliable version of the dash, or just go w/ the newest one?  I'm just wondering since some people seem to be changing back to an older version.

yeah it's not a 100% fix.  Friend was having the same prob, told him that but nothing changed.  Another idea would be to clear the avalaunch data from TDATA/UDATA and any other traces of it and try with 4860 without using the quickstart options.  Anything beyond that ia a bug somewhere that will hopefully be worked out.  It must be something new in 486* since I didn't get probs in 484.

2)I can't login with ftp with xbox/xbox

i am using .64 and when I try to auto-update it says "looking for the last version", since I believe that there will be other versions after the next one, shouldn't it be "looking for the latest version" instead?

when moving or deleting files via the file manager, it prompt for yes or no.  I select yes (no is default just in case you mess up)

when I do another file move or whatever, it gives me the prompt but it stays on yes.

usually things like that always default to NO and you have to manually select yes.

a little weird.

Heres one I discovered...

Lets say you are planning ahead and add games you want to show in the menu by adding them as Items in the XML file.  If you do that and boot to that file, and you try to copy your program to that folder using the FIle Manager, you get an Acess Denied error.

I had to remove that program from the XML file, reboot, and then copy the file.  I know its not a big deal, since you really shouldnt be adding things to the menu that dont already exist, but I thought Id mention it.

Did you try putting the around the future stuff?

the "Update Dashboard" function freezes my box... other than that, I  haven't noticed any bugs yet.

(yeah, I know I could extract and upload the isos manually, but I haven't got enough free diskspace on my iBook to do so.  sad.gif )
