use the flashing tool that team xecuter released, and you can flash each bank seperately. then choose whichever to do whatever.

QUOTE (alienware @ May 4 2003, 01:03 PM)

but how do i get Bank 1 Bios to Recognize  slayer.
and Bank 2 Bios to Recognize avalaunch.
what do i need to do i am butting avaluanch in my f drive in slayer.

I am not sure I recognize the question.

The first part is easy.  Use Xbtool to make a couple of different BIOSes that boot from different partitions (sticking to 2 so it will work on X2L as well).

Example;
Open XBtool
Open X2 4976-02
Set boot-partiton to E:
Make the X yellow
(this way you'll see on startup what it is loading)
save your new BIOS as 4976-02-E

Open X2BM
Put the regular 4976-02 in bank 1 & 2
Put the new 4976-02-E in bank 3 & 4

save the new 1MB image somwhere.

Flash your BIOS with it using Evox 3752.

(This should work on X2Ls and X2Ps)

Make sure Avalaunch is on E: and is named evoxdash.xbe

You should now have the ability to boot avalaunch from E with your new BIOS and Evox as usual from C:

Now the second part was booting slayer. I don't know why you would want to. Last time I checked Slayer is a setup disc not anything you want to boot from regularly. But, sticking the slayer disc in the DVD drive, and rebooting the machine, should let you boot from slayer.

I apologize if I misunderstood the question.
And anyone feel free to pipe in.

do you have to rename avalaunch to evoxdash.xbe?

Only if you want the BIOS to find it and boot from it.  biggrin.gif

You have to remember that the X2 BIOS is designed to look for evoXdash.xbe upon booting. If it does not exist on the hard drive it will then look for neXgen.xbe and then if not found will automatically boot xboxdash.xbe

X_Ace

all i want to do is lets say i want slayer to run on 1 and 2 banks
and a nother day have avalunch on 3 and 4.

but what i really want to do is in the future is run slayer and avalunch together so that i dont have to do this back forth.

is there a way to just have both running together in slayer.

I apologize for being dense.

I just never considered Slayer a dashboard, rather an install disc.

But if you want to boot from it, I would unpack the slayer ISO, figure out what the executable in it is called (default.xbe, slayer.xbe, or whatever).

Rename this to evoxdash.xbe, and put the entire slayer disc on a different partition than evox and avalaunch, and just repeat the steps I outlined above to boot avalaunch. (you might want to make the X red for this BIOS, so that you can immediately see what you are doing when you boot.)

I hope this helps. I have never tried it, but I'm guessing it would work.

Why not?

Have you tried?
what error messages did you get?

After extracting the slayer ISO i find a default xbe at the root level. I would either relabel this evoxdash.xbe, or if you are afraid that slayer needs to be able to find this exact file again after a completed operation, I would copy it and relabel the new copied file to evoxdash.xbe.

Let me know if it doesn't work.
