hi,

im new to the making your own skin thing
theres some things that i want to know how to do

well first off i have photoshop, so i can make my layout

but the things i want to know is how to have things displayed on the skin such as how much memory is left in each drive and what version and other things like that
and of course the time, theres more i want but ill figure that out later

i tried reading the pins but i don't understand some of that
and i would try searching around this forum but right now the server is real busy

could someone help me out a bit

When Using A Skinning Soft You Will Have Th Choice Of What You Want To See On Your Skin. Like : Time, Temp, F:, G:, E:, D:, Version, Etc...

i know what i want but i don't exactly know how to put it there

what if i want the time and the temp to be displayed in the top left corner

how would i set it to be up there,

what if i want to display F: drive but not any other drive

thats what i don't get

Um?....Why not just use EvoX Skinner v1.2.7 ?
It so simple....
Just apply a main screen & a launch screen.
Then use x-y cordinates to place whatever visual yoou want, like F Drive & etc.

Or you could just load a skin that you like & replace the main screen to whatever you want & the save it.

or was that to confusing?

one more question

is this program a "legal" program that i could ask for

or is it a highly illegal program that i have to find in the usual place

i have more questions

i didn't get a chance to get my hands on photoshop yet
so
is there a way to make animations using photoshop, make things move and whatnot

and also ive noticed alot of things (skins, sigs) and they look so damn good. the charactors look too professonal,
when you do characters do the people that do these get imported pictures from the web or do they drawn these themselves with there artisctic abilities on photoshop
as from what ive seen all the characters look like the real thing so this made me wonder

i already knew that you couldn't have animated things for the evox skin  

i was just curious about such things

ill try out that animator that you suggested  

do you use photoshop
do you draw out characters and other things

thats what i don't know because im not that talented to make characters from shows and video games look like the artist themselves made it

Well...

I always use Photoshop whenever i wanna paint something.

But im not sure what you mean by character?
I some times just use freehand & then scan my picture in black & white with fairly high resolution & then i just load it up into Photoshop & edit the colors.

You see, there`s a really great option in Photoshop called "Layers", with this option you can basicly puth any colors behind the picture.... um?.....

Im not sure i made myself clear on that....anyway.
Whenever i start to paint a new skin...i never know what it will look like in the end.
I always have an idea...but it always turn out be something more or less crappy.
Im just lucky.

It can be hard to paint freehand using only your mouse.....it takes practice i guess.
No biggy, anyone can paint.

My best solution to your little problem would be to paint whatever you want on paper (black n white) & then add color to it in Photoshop.

what i mean by "character"

have you noticed any sigs with a cartoon character, ex from cowbow bebop, they have that spike guy in there sig,
what im trying to ask is how do you make it look exactly like that spike guy

or the simpsons in a sig

how can you make it so it looks exactly like homer

thats what im not sure about, it looks so perfect, even has shadows and stuff like that
they get the shapes so good and everything is so perfect
do they do that themselves or do you import pictures from the internet and then mess with them or what

i have plans for like a family guy skin, but not sure how to get the characters ex peter, to look like him
do i get a pic of him from the internet or do i use my skills and draw him myself
