Xecuter2 Lost Files
« on: March 18, 2010, 07:48:00 PM »

Hey everyone, new to the site, I dont know much about ModChips and I need some help with mine. I have had my xecuter2 mod chip for a long time and about 2 years ago all my game files went missing, I think someone messed around with it. Either way I just turned it on and they were all gone (including about 1000 snes games and thousands of other games on the other consoles.)
When I get into the main menu there is no option of choosing a 'Games' link like there used to be.
Would anyone know how to help me find my games or know if they are even in the xbo still?
Cheers,
Blimp.

This is not really an xecuter issue its most likely a dash board issue. what dash board are you using? Answer that and I will move it to the correct forum and try and help from there. Also have you used a file browser to see if the games are actually still there?

Alright I will try and find out but really not to good with all this stuff. All I can find is the link to "MS Dashboard" which sends me back to the original Xbox screen so im pretty sure this isn't what you are talking bout. So if you know where I will find the Dashboard info I will gladly listen. Also dont have a file browser that I know of or can find.

Bad Quality on the menu list but incase you are unable to read:
MS Dashboard
Reboot
Power Off
Settings
Back Up
Flash BIOS

yeah I think just the menu option was removed. The stuff should still be on there. Get either slayers boot disk or Auto installer deluxe and they will help reinstall the dash

can you ftp into the xbox

get a ftp browser such as filezilla (which is free i believe) or flashfxp. once in there, find the button that says "new site" or "quick connection"

it will then ask for your ip address, username and password of the devise you want to ftp to (in this case your xbox).

on the first screen of your dash on your xbox (like the ones you took a picture of) it says "IP" on the upper left hand corner. right now in those pics you sent it says No IP! where it should have a set of numbers such as 192.168.1.100. you need to connect the devise to a router for it to obtain an ip address. if it doesnt that means your dash is set to "static ip" where you need to set it to "DCHP" or "automatic ip"

the password and username should be both "xbox".

once in there you can copy over a fresh dash. or install a new one like XBMC and go into your x2config.ini and tell it to look for the new dash.

so does that involve connecting to the internet through my xbox?? because i know how, i just dont have the stuff to do it but otherwise i know what to do with the 'static IP' and changing it

and also there is only a 'YES' - 'NO' option on using the 'static IP'
