Is the green LED above the network connector on? Is the yellow LED above the network connector flashing?

What is the IP address of the xbox?
What is the IP address of the PC?
How are they connected?

Sorry, but the PC IP address looks wrong!

That IP address is registered with RIPE in Amsterdam, and allocated to NTL in the UK. Do you have a wireless connection as well as the wired connection? It's the address of the wired connection you need. I'd expect it to be something like 169.254.4.69.

So you are unplugging that connection and plugging it in to the Xbox via a crossover cable? Does the IP address stay the same when you plug in to the Xbox?

If so, just manually set the Xbox IP to 86.8.100.129, Subnet Mask 255.255.252.0. If not then set the xbox IP address to 1 more than the alternate PC IP address, and set the subnet mask to match.

Check that it works by pinging the xbox from the PC.

Thanks Heimdall, props to you.

The ip address was changing everytime i removed the ethernet cable from the modem.

I have backed up my c\e\ drive and my eeprom matches the serial number.

Thanks again biggrin.gif
