What's the PC's IP address?
What's the Xbox IP address?
Can you ping the Xbox from the PC?

You need to work out why your Xbox has no LAN connection. It's more likely to be a cabling fault or a physical connection problem than a software fault. Until the green LED is solid and the yellow one flashes intermittently there's no point trying to ping or ftp!

The xbox and the PC are almost certainly on different subnets. For most domestic setups (subnet mask 255.255.255.0)  only the last part of the IP address should vary - the first three should be the same.

How are your Xbox and PC connected to your network?
Are they both running DHCP?
