I've installed a Duox2 gs on a 1.6 box w/ a 120gb hdd.
I used AID 3.10 to try and install evolutionx dashboard, apps, emulators.

However when I go to run an app like dvd2xbox, xbmc, etc. it goes to the loading screen and then back to the dashboard.
Same result when I try to play games from the hard drive.

I've tried formatting and deleting all the files and reinstalling them but the results are always the same.
I removed evolutionx and installed unleashx and had the same problems.

A couple of prior posts mentioned that the .ini file might be corrupt but if I keep formatting and reinstalling from the aid disk how can that be?

At this point I'm a little frustrated with it. This is actually a friends systems so I would like to be done with this so I can play some MGS4.

If anyone can help point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

install evolutionx off the disk just to get ftp the go to the usual places and download evolutionx then use that to over write the one off the disk and also do u have the newest bios on your chip to me it kinda sounds like a hardware problem but i am not 100 percent sure on that

I got the zip file for evox so I'll ftp it over when I get home.

Just in looking at the .ini file on the one in the zip and comparing it to what I remember the one on my box has a ton of text when it lists bios. Any thoughts on what's up with that?

Anyways I'll post once I get it done.

Well, I got the box set up and ftp'd the evox.ini and evoxdash.xbe files over that i got from the usual place and then booted it up. When I went to start the apps and game on the hard drive it was the exact same thing. It showed the svo x flubber screen then back to the menu.

Sigh.

I read somewhere about someone just formatting the hdd over and over again. Any sense in that or any other suggestions?

Here's something dumb that I might have done that could be why things are not working.

When I first loaded everything up I ran xbox partitioner to make the x:, y: and z: and make them 0 then I added it back to my f: so that all the space was on the f: drive. Was there something that I could have screwed up by doing that?

If so then what would I do to fix that?

i think x,y,and z are cache folders and that might have something to do with it because i think its kinda like virtual memory see if u can add them back and see if it helps and with the boot.ini if u are talking about the stuff that says rom or flash those are for flashing modchips or your tsop

Yeah I used Slayers 2.6 and rebuilt the hard drive. Then I reinstalled the evox dashboard and everything worked just fine.

Although Installed more emulators to the f:/emulators folder but only the ones that the slayers disk are visible in the dashboard but I think I can work on the evox.ini file to fix that hopefully.

use ftp to search for the emulators and see if they are in the same folder as the ones installed by slayers

Yeah there was an emulators folder in the apps folder instead of there being a stand alone f:/emulators folder so I moved them into the correct folder.
