Would Like To Run Linux From Evolution X
« on: May 13, 2008, 03:10:00 PM »

Is there a version of Linux that shows up as a standard xbox application that Evolution-X can run?

Would like to surf the web with original xbox. Not really interested in the prospect of having to install a full linux installation on the machine. Pretty happy switching back and forth with the combination of evolution-x and the xbox media player.

Any linux distribution that supports loopback install will fit your requirements: for example xdsl. Look at the linux forum here for the latest version by stevewal.

I tried xdsl.  It works great.  I started off by running it from the CD, but now it's installed on the hard drive. The only problem with it is it won't boot if the controller is hooked up. I have to unplug the controller and then plug it back in again once in xwindows.  Still, it's not that big of a deal. It's kick butt.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, if I hijack this thread but, when I run x-DSL it asks for the CD and then I get nowhere.
