I've been out of the scene for awhile and was checking to see if my Evox dashboard needs an update, it looks like the version is still the same (3935)? I have no complaints about the Evox dash, it's stable, easy to navigate, and does what I want. I'm just wondering if there's anything better out there that offers some compelling improvements? What other dash would you guys recommend and why? Is there one popular dash that everyone agrees on is the best now?

One thing I would like to see is the covers for games, hopefully obtained automatically, when I select games to play rather than just picking games by text name as I know now with Evox.  Thanks for any tips!

Actually one small complaint I have is the rather slow FTP transfers, especially when there are multiple small files involved. I'm not sure if that's Evox's fault however.

AVALaunch is not really updated anymore but it has pretty good ftp speeds. Especially if you use Qwix also.

XBMC is a fantastic dash and has decent ftp speeds also. It is very easy to make the default dash also. Just install it, and rename the XBMC shortcut to have the same name as your Evox xbe. Once you remove the original Evox xbe and put it the newly named XBMC one, your box will be fooled into booting XBMC.

Thanks for the suggestion! Rather than having to ditch Evox entirely, I took advantage of the fact my mod chip allows selectable banks, so I have one BIOS which will load Evox still and the other which allows me to load up XBMC.

I'm playing around now with the MC360 clones the XBOX360 GUI and also xTV which clones AppleTV. It's very cool stuff. I recommend you guys check it out.
