Hello, I recently just started using my modded xbox again after about a year. I updated all my software, avalaunch and xbmc, and everything was working great. However, I went to turn on my xbox today and it just hangs at the launch screen. The screen that shows Microsoft's logo except it's blue because of my modchip. It never loads into EvoX. I havn't changed anything or done anything, it just happened randomly. Can anyone help me?

if you have a chip with an OS on it then boot to the chip and look at your C partition and see if you still have evoxdash.xbe located there.

will your xbox boot a game if one is left in the drive b4 power on?

If it does boot a game and you do have evoxdash.xbe or xboxdash.xbe from your C then either something is wrong with that partition or the bios on the chip werent mean to boot bios from the C and you should check the roots of E and F for the bootable dash files

I can boot games with the modchip on and with it off, but when i load the xbox with the modchip on it just hangs on the big Microsoft X and nothing loads. I can't FTP to my xbox because I cant get into avalaunch or anything.

i would make a bootable iso of krayzies ndure with either evox or unleashx as the dash just to be able to open a ftp if all else fails. if you currently have evox as your dash than krayzies ndure will overwrite the old files and you will still be able to open a ftp. it sounds odd that neither the xboxdash.xbe or the evoxdash.xbe would load, if there was a problem with the evoxdash.xbe than it should boot into the ms dash.

I just burned the Slayer 2.7 auto install to a disc and reinstalled evox. I'm not sure what happened, but this solved the problem and I didn't loose any apps or anything, so thanks for the help.

I also encountered this problem...my trouble is the disk didn't work and I have no idea how to make a iso or what exactly that is. Please help! I misses mine x-box!

I also cannot load the dashboard. I was attempting to set the xbox to boot into xbmc. i made a new evoxdash.xbe, but after reboot, i only get the MS logo. My xbox is soft modded. It still played burned games, but I cannot FTP into the xbox to restore the dashboard settings. Unfortunately, I did not back up my HDD, and it is locked. I have tried all sorts of things, but cannot get into the dashboard. I feel that I can fix the problem if i could FTP into the xbox. Can anyone offer thoughts/suggestions on the best way to remedy this? Thanks in advance!

FYI: I was able to pick up a copy of Mech Assault, the game my xbox had been modded with. I was able to launch into my dashboard this way, and edit the files so that it worked properly.
