Because the Xbox is looking for xboxdash.xbe to load the MS Dash. You renamed evox to that so the "stock" Xbox can't load the evox dash.

Try renaming the xboxdash.xbe (Evox) to default.xbe and see if evox will load.

If it does, rename the msxboxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe. It should be back to normal.

If you are talking about getting evox to load the MS Dash, you need to point it to xboxdash.xbe not default.xbe. Default.xbe IS the Evox Dash. Evox.ini doesn't need to point to it.

Most chips are set to load the default.xbe from the C drive. If it can't load default.xbe it looks for xboxdash.xbe and loads the original dash. That is why your xboxdash was successful loading the evox dash, because it was renamed to xboxdash and there wasn't a default to load.

If I have managed to confuse you more, let me know.
