Installing Evox W/o A Working Dvd Drive

Long winded is good, so is searching.  You're off to a good start.

First question: Are both Xboxes chipped?  If so, it'll be easy.  If you happen to have a 4th gen chip like an X3 or Xenium, it'll be far easier than that.

Yup - both are chipped.  Which is good - However something better then that is...
being up and running again! smile.gif

How?

So this morning my brother came around with his xbox and I explained my proposal to him.  He agreed that taking the hard drive out of the broken xbox and into his modded one and using a boot disc to connect to it via the network was the best idea.   Using the network, we fixed up the dashboard (now is a updated working XBMC) and we are all apples!

So that's how we fixed it.

Thanks for the reply.  It is an old xbox and i take it an old mod chip - tbh, i have no idea what kind it is and the new XBMC thinks it is an 'unknown type'.  It doesn't really matter if we are up and running again thou!

Cheers
