« on: April 14, 2005, 06:24:00 PM »

Adv Pack Vs. 3rd Party Cable

the cables all go to the same pins on the xbox motherboard so apart from possible differences in build quality, they should be the same thing.

the advantage of the ADV pack is you get fibre-optic output for digital surround sound.
I own both cables myself and picture quality is pretty much the same.

my mad catz cable lives at my friend's house so I can bring my xbox over, and my adv pack stays home for surround sound.

there are also tutorials that show how to make your own adv pack if you're a bit technical. it doesn't require a modded xbox but you still get to solder and void the hell out of your warranty smile.gif
