Question About The Xbox High Definition Av Pack
« on: April 14, 2005, 10:05:00 AM »

I plan on buying one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/...8185070289&rd=1

My quesiton.. How do I hook it up to my DTS/DD 5.1 receiver? This is the receiver I have: http://www.jvc.com/p...=2&archive=true

And here's a brief summary of it's inputs:

3 audio and 5 A/V (including 4 S-video, 1 front-panel, and one 5.1-channel) inputs
4 digital inputs (3 optical/1 coaxial)

Thanks.

You have to buy an optical cable that connects from the HD pack to the receiver.

edit: They look like this.

It will work, just plan on having a good set of standalone component cables(like the ones you hook a dvd player up with). The newer pack has them built in(good quality too by the way). <

This is more for dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. I do, however, have a set of monster cable component video cables. My TV isn't HDTV.

EDIT TO ADD - So will the cable (optical fiber) linked above hook into both the xbox pack I just bought and my receiver?

That's a third party adaptor.... I highly suggest you buy an MS branded adaptor at the very least. I've heard of people having issues with certain third party HD adaptors. <
