im not exactly sure what your trying to do but... if all your trying to do is play your backup dvd's on your xbox then just use XBMC (XBox Media Center) as thats by far the best thing for playing back video/audio/pcitures etc on your xbox... plus u can adjust video display which is great for showing the "entire" image of the movie instead of losing some of it which happends with normall dvd players.
on a side note... UnleashX is a better dashboard then evox is in general... much more features... evox is pretty much the worse dashboard when it comes to the fancy stuff.
p.s. u can get the newest XBMC's on #xbins.... plus i recommend downloading the MC360 skin for XBMC as it makes the XBMC's interface look like the xbox360's
