I am using a straight crossover connection to my pc and this is wut my pc ip is set at

ip: 192.168.0.1

Try changing your PC IP to 192.168.0.2
Your gateway on the Xbox is set to
192.168.0.1, I am not sure if that
would conflict with you current PC IP.

Maybe try a different crossover cable.

im only using the one gateway at home cause i do not have net at home so i don't think there should be a conflict. I followed the crossover tut that is on here. Evox and other apps will show the ip i set for my box but any time i try to ftp it will time out. I have done it a 100 times and this is the first time this has occured.

Can you ping the xbox from your PC?

PING 192.168.0.103

Type the above at a command prompt, if it gets a response, then the problem is at your FTP client side, ensure the PASV mode is switched off and the port is set to 21

I don't use Evox much these days, but when it was my main dash the network and FTP used to drive me crazy.... if you have another dashboard or application on your Xbox (such as XBMC or DVD2Xbox) then try one of them out just in case Evox is throwing a network wobbler.

Hi I have exactly the smae problem - the only thing is I upgraded from a previous version of evox to the latest 3935 build and now when I try to connect via any FTP client I get an error message saying 'pasv not implimented'. If I try to connect using 'active mode' I can connect, but I can't see any of my files or folders.

I saved my evox.ini from my previous install and reinstalled this after an upgrade. After quadruple checking I am convinced that the file has been replaced and that my settings are 100% correct. (Indeed I can still connect to XBMC using identical settings).

It seems that what the FTP client is telling me is accurate - and that PASV networking has simply not been implimented in this build. Which leaves me worndering why on earth it appeared to work fine on the previous build.

Can anyone tell me how to enable PASV networking on the evox ftp client?

I can still ping the xbox. I have given it a static IP of 192.168.1.109 - which worked without a hitch previously.

GJ

I'll join in with the ftp problems.  My xbox (running evox +3921) messed up last weekend and stopped loading the correct menu options.  I was suggested by a member on here to replace the evox.ini file with a stock one.  I did so but the new evox.ini file locked the HD and now I am unable to connect via the FTP using the usual 192.168.1.3 .  When I check the settings on the xbox, it says that it's using a static IP address of 192.168.100.10.  I've tried almost every combination trying to figure out how to connect back to the xbox.  Any suggestions fellas?

Thanks in advance.

Didnt get any takers the first time, so I'll give it another try.  Anyone have any suggestions for connecting to the xbox?  I cant figure out why the IP address that the xbox is reading doesn't work, and I'm not sure why the IP address that I've used since I got it isnt working.  Without connecting to it I can't load the evox.ini file that I need for it to start working correctly again.  Any suggestions?

Hey guys, i dont wanna hijack this thread, but im curious if youve fixed your ftp problems.

Im having ftp issues now (after countless months of trouble free connection). Im wondering if my evox setup has been corrupted during a recent storm. Everything else seems to work fine, i just cant ftp to it, no matter what settings or configs im using.

Any evox gurus got advice?
Should i try going to the latest version evox?
Is there a master RESET somewhere that returns the evox config to default?

Im all ears.  :-|

I wish that I could reply yes to your question, but unfortunately I still cannot connect to my xbox.  I haven't had any replies, and I have tried almost every combination of IP numbers to connect back.  Wish you luck with the problem.  If you figure something out before I do please post, I'm up for just about any suggestion right now.

Try using an 'auto installe'r CD. It won't do anything unless you tell it - but it will give you a working FTP. Then you can update/replace your evox.ini or replace evox entirely as you find appropriate. There are several auto installers avaiable - try to find the most recent one you can.

If this doesn't fix your issue, then it may be a hardware issue - or a software issue at the PC end.

There is literally no other explanation for it. It isn't vodoo after all.

Try changing your FTP software too. It seems evox genuinely can't handle PASV mode - and some FTP clents don't understand this.

Thanks for the reply GJ.  I'm sure u can tell that I'm a complete noob to this.  I had a friend mod the xbox for me, and I havent had problems with the system for almost 2 years now.  I'm assuming that by an 'auto installer' u mean a slayer's auto-installer, but after I download the file and save it to a disc, how do I go about using it on the xbox?  Do I need to switch the banks so that the xbox loads with the flash menu??  And what do I need to stay away from doing so that I don't lose any of the info saved on the HD?

Thanks in advance,
