Ftp Problems
« on: December 01, 2005, 07:52:00 PM »

Ok well I just recently reserted my Linksys (WRT54G) router and I just installed a newer firewire. I cant seem to find an IP to make it work so I can FTP to my xbox. I have it to static IP and I made the IP to 192.168.1.105 and when I try to connect to the FTP nothing happens. I have the username and password right and still no luck. I also tryed with static IP off, but then it just gives me a ip like 0.0.0.0. Can someone help me with my problem? I dunno whats wrong. Im using a wireless apater for my xbox and I do have it on my router so that its enable to get wireless connections. But still no luck. Can somone help me?

what worked for me was setting it in the system utilities menu to static ip and putting the ip tp 192.168.1.102 and setting the default to 192.168.0.1 if that doesnt work just look at the network settings in xbmc and see what it has for an automatic ip and try that.....assuming you have xbmc....lol but thats what i did and everything worked ftping while my pc is still online... hope that helps

Try changing the Network Settings I.P to:
192.168.0.3
Edit the evox.ini file to: 192.168.0.2
And when logging in with your FTP Program, use: 192.168.0.2 as the I.P, and "xbox" for the username, and "xbox" for the password (No Quotes)
Dont know if it helps, Cheers,
SAM

I'll try both of your guys answers but for mr samfisher here. How can I edit the evox.ini  file? When I dont have ftp? Can you help me on that problem. Anyways I'll try your answers and see if one of them work and post back.

if you have unleashx, you can edit the ini file in unleashx's file manager. if you dont have unleashx on your xbox, you can burn it to a disc and do it from there.

When using FlashFXP I get this.

[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.3 -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21
[R] Connected to 192.168.0.3
[R] USER xbox
[R] 331 Password required for xbox.
[R] PASS (hidden)
[R] 530 Login incorrect.
[R] Connection failed
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

(But my password is xbox. I check on the xbox also and its xbox. I retyped it like 1 billion times and its xbox.)

You could try to ftp by setting up a network place through windows, that is what I do, works fine.

Ok I fixed my problem THANK LORD! MAN I LOVE MY MODDED XBOX! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Anyways the problem was. Is that when I didnt have a modded xbox I also had a cd that came with the MS (xbox) bridge wireless thingy and when I inserted it to my xbox it set it up. Well my wireless name was "andy" at first when I set it up. Well then and couple day before posting this I restarted my router and called linksys because I didnt know how to fix it. Then then told me to make my wireless name to "andrew" so that why it wasent working.

Thank god I thought of that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
