Okay.  Copy your ip settings down from your old evox.  The, run your new evox and install it to your HDD.  Now, change the settings in the NEW evoc to match the ip settings from the OLD evox, making sure that USE STATIC IP is set to yes.  Reboot, and all should be well in the land of Xbox.

If not, tell us.  If so, tell us.

Ok I loaded the new evox dash again,

in the settings menu i see

Type Static
IP 192.168.100.10
Line Status 100/Full Duplex
Mac Address (long string)

(these top 4 lines are in blue and I can't seem to edit them)

Setup Network YES
Static IP YES

***IP 192.168.100.10 (this is the one I tried to edit to 192.168.0.4 and rebooted) but it reverted back to the 192.168.100.10 once I went back into the screen

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.100.1
DNS 0.0.0.0
DNS 0.0.0.0
Setup Delay 0

Do I need to also edit the Default Gateway to my old evox default gateway too?

Is there a way after changing this to make it stick?  When I did these changes I hit DONE, yet when I rebooted the ip #'s revert back to the 100.10 ...

Edit - I just tried again to change my ip and default gateway hitting done after each one and rebooting, went back in and they were both back to the longer 100.10 and 100.1 settings...

Probably something very simple here, that first IP i see in the menus I can't seem to edit, anything else I am doing wrong?

Hi! I just got through chipping my xbox (xbit) and performing the samsung 616T modifictaion. This is my first modded box, and I was going to install the latest version of EVO X, and put a 160 gig HD in.

Problem is, I cant extract the original save games, dash and other backup stuff because I cant FTP to it.

It lists my xbox IP as 192.168.100.10 as well, and if I change it, it simply resets to the same thing again.

I have the exact same problem, I cant FTP, I cant telnet, hell my router client table doesnt even pick it up.

I even tried using a cat 5 crossover cable, still cant connect... please post if anyone finds a resolution to this.

Edit: I'm using an Evo-X boot cd (hehe I can use cd-r's cause I did the samsung mod), with version 39something....   I've tried alot of different networking techniques and nothing can even FIND an IP address of 192.168.100.10, not with crossover, or with a router; tried 2 diff. pcs and 4 diff programs (blaze ftp, SSH secure shell, cute ftp, and xbox saves manager)

As a temp fix while I'm trying to overcome this issue, I'm using "UnleashX" as a secondary dashboard which I run if I want to FTP b/c for some reason I can FTP in UnleashX but not in EvoX.. I USED to be able to FTP in EvoX, and I don't think I changed anything but its been awhile.

While Playing around with the IP settings, and reading some other posts, I noticed in UnleashX that the IP settings where

IP 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

I set those in my Evox and I was able to get in once.. and when I tried to access my F: drive it froze flashfxp and once I re=opened it I couldnt FTP through Evox Again..
As far as my experience, it doesnt matter whether you set your IP to static or not (I could be wrong) but I think all that chages is whether you are designating an IP, or whether the xbox gets designated one from the router.
When you go into settings you should see the XBOXes IP up top in the blue (un-editable) and thats the IP you need to FTP to, I really dont know what changes when you edit
IP 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.0.1

Hope this helps someone.. I'll post again If I fix it...

I am still stumped on this, messed around with it again last night for a good 45 mins or so no matter what I do just can't get into ftp using the newer evox, if I boot from the old 1.8 version i see normal ips and can sign in thru ftp fast and easy, just wanted to upgrade my evox here yet can't figure out why that ip changes so much and how to change it so i can get in...

Went to Xbins last night, d/l the latest "Official" release of EvoX, 3593 I think.. (not slayers)
In settings put Static IP to Off, rebooted, In settings the first line (in blue) shows the IP that my router assigned.. FTP works like a charm, now I just need to add all my menu items from my old.ini file.

Case Closed
