i recently aquired an xbox with no video or audio, are you missing audio as well, or just video? what resistor is it? <

I ran into an Xbox which would display component and S-video, but not composite. I ended up having to replace the Conexant encoder chip. <

Hmm I have one where I get nothing. I put a smartXX V2 in the system and I can get it to boot to the SmartXX OS screen and it seems to boot the bios but I get no AV but the light are all functionaing as if it is working but all I ahve is a black screen.

any suggestion?

I pulled the chip and I get nothing now but a black screen now. The xbox is straigh stock with all original parts. I get a steady green light but a black screen. <

thats where you can find the video encoder

how do you determine that the video encoder is bad? i get flickering video, mostly black screen, with full audio. i've tried booting flashbios and i still get that flickering black screen.

how would i test the board to see what is wrong?
