from a newbie faq:
Once you can FTP successfully in, rename your xboxdash.xbe as msxboxdash.xbe (this is your MS dash), and transfer over EvolutionX's xbe as xboxdash.xbe from your PC.

i manage to connect my xbox to pc using flashfxp...i renamed xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe, but i dont hv an EvolutionX's xbe or xboxdash.xbe on my pc...how can get this file?

note i hv EvolutionX Build 3935

I don't get how you click on Xbox Live and you can no longer boot into Evox. I dont see how it would affect it. Have you tried reinstalling your mod?

That Faq seems to be outdated. Putting Evox onto the C drive is how the old mods worked. Now Evox is installed on E and booted from there.

Also, xboxdash.xbe should be left alone.

since my evox is intalled on my c:, when i clicked on xbox live, i think it updated the xboxdash.xbe. so each time i start my xbox, it loads the msdash.
rite now, i hv to use an evox bootup disk to get my evoxdash on the screen.
is there a way that i can fix this so no bootup disk is required?
would reinstalling evox help???

no, i dont see default.xbe in my c:. there are only 2 xbe files taht i see. msxboxdash.xbe and xboxdash.xbe

the only place i see default.xbe is on my bootup disk (d drive)

i tried renaming the default.xbe to xboxdash.xbe and replace that with the one in the c:. it loads evoxdash without bootup disk, but if i select ms dashboard in the menu, it gives me error 21 (i think) with message that ask me to contact customer service in 5 different language.

so basically i fixed one dash but messed up the other one
help please??

after doing some research on error21 on the forums, i finally fixed all my problem.

since xbox live updated my xboxdash.xbe (or evoxdash.xbe), i did the followings:

using flashfxp
1) delete msxboxdash.xbe
2) rename xboxdash.xbe (or evoxdash.xbe) to msxboxdash.xbe
3) locate deflault.xbe on my bootup disk, copy it into my pc, and rename it to xboxdash.xbe (or evoxdash.xbe)
4) copy that into the xbox where the old xboxdash.xbe (or evoxdash.xbe) was

thats it...the next time i start my xbox without the bootup disk, it loads the evox dashboard, and when i hit ms dashboard on the menu, it goes to ms dashboard. (no more error21)

if anyone thinks that this solution is incorrect, please let me know
thanks
