Ftp Woes

Im not sure if this is related to Evox, but it seems that other people have been having similar problems. Basically I can't transfer specific files.  Here is an example.  I have the 3 seasons of Family Guy in .avi format on my computer.  I tried transfering them to my xbox and 10 of the files cannot transfer.  I get a "file cannot be opened" error with all the ftp programs I am using.  I am almost positive these episodes are the same format as the others, and both of my computers can watch them with no problem.  Instead of trying to explain better, here are some logs:

Internet Explorer:

I would say that it is something with my router, but I can transfer all the other episodes fine.

Try shortening the filenames to under 24 characters (I believe.. not 100% sure - and this would include spaces) and remove the comma<- which again may not effect it, it's been a while since I've had that problem.

I have the same exact problem. I have been transfering games for years and last night I was going to transfer 10 new ones to the box I got this error on all of them. The files that are not transfered are in folders or are very small. I manually created the folders on the Xbox and then dragged the files into the folders manually.

The two games managed to boot ok but some games have 1000 folders and files. What is wrong? I tried everything. 3 different FTP programs, tried many different settings and got the same darn error every time like you got above.

Please tell me if you managed to solve it as I am totally stumbled. I will try to reinstall evox as it seems that is the thing.

a. Commas = NO NO

And jsut so you know evox FTP sucks.  I recommend that you use XBMC it has a whole lot less acctuall erros than EVOX.  No, it will not fix your naming convention problem though.  I have all 3 seasons on my box no problems, also be careful for special characters.

It just makes so little sense when using this setup for years only to have 10 games fail every single one of them. I am sure it is fixable but I am out of ideas. Thanks for your suggestions though. I think I will just get rid of EvoX and run something else or atleast the ftp tool you told me about.

This also happend to me but, i found a way around it.. what i usually do it just delete the last letter or two of the file, and just rename it back when its on the xbox, that method works fine for me..

i solved it by deleting any of the file thats on the xbox i.e ( you try copying Happy.avi and the transfer fails but there is a file on xbox called Happy.avi and its 0kbs, delete the Happy.avi on xbox and retry it should work
