Questions About Slayer's & Evox - Reboot Problem
« on: April 11, 2005, 09:40:00 AM »

Ok, first post here, so bear with me.  I have been reading for a couple of weeks trying to get myself aquainted with the xbox modding scene.  I'm hooked.  Anyway, I recently  had my box modded.  Executor2 chip, 120gig hd.   This weekend I managed to network the box to my pc.  I tried to send a trainer for Ninja Gaiden ( hard@ss game!! ) & in the process I think I renamed one of the trainer files.  Now my box goes into reboot hell.  Just reboots & reboots.  I was going to try & make a boot disk, but I finally managed to get Slayers.  My question is this:  Using slayer's disk, can I boot to the EvoX dash, so that I can ftp & delete that friggin file??  As it is now, I cannot get to the main dash to connect & fix the problem....  Please someone help!!

Thanks!

How far does it go before it reboots? If it gets to where it has the xbox logo and then "MS" pops up under it, then the disk should work. Make sure that when you are burning the cd you use either a blank DVD or a BRAND NEW Cd-rw. It will increase the chances that you can actually get the disk to run. If it boots, I don't know weather or not you can FTP from there, but I would imagion you can... I have a soft-modded xbox, and I used SlaYer's Auto-installer... Just as you are trying to do. I spent all of spring break working on modding my first xbox. I got it done, and it seems to be running great! All I can say is try the disk, and if it won't let you FTP in, there will be other options that will let you do what you want to... Including formatting and fully reinstalling EvoX (with a sh*t load of helpful programs)... I hope I helped! PM me for more help on burning the disk or what ever.

I appreciate the reply.  I spent some time talking to the guy who modded my box.  He said that it would be easier to fix my problem using just a boot disk.  He's got one coming.  I've got all of the files downloaded to make my own, but I have the stock Thompson drive & no DVD burner on my pc.  So, to make things easier I'll just wait until it gets here.  My box is down for a week or so... * sniff sniff *

On the plus side, the down time is giving me time to do some bling bling mods.  B)
