Can Live Update Corrupt Evoxdash.xbe Or Evox.ini ?
« on: April 02, 2005, 03:03:00 PM »

Hi,

I modded my nephew's xbox about a year or two ago now with Executer 2 lite, also modded mine and my brothers with no issues.

My nephews Xbox is not connected to the internet and he does not use it for live and does not have the ability to ftp or alter files.

However on two occasions now it has stopped working.

After much fun checking my solder joints re-flashing bios and the like - I have discovered that;

1st occasion - Evox.ini file had the menu section deleted.

2nd occasion - Evoxdash.xbe file seemed to be corrupt or altered.

Does anybody have any idea how this could be happening?

I know that Dashupdate changes the MS dash - I wondered if it now also corrupted any other files that should not be in the directory just for fun ?

Appreciate any ideas on how its happening and how I can prevent him from wrecking it again :-)

Thanks

Rhesus

Not likely. What M$ does is they either format your C: drive and put the regular msdash files on there or your whole drive and regular ms dash files.(ppl have said diffent things regarding this.) So it might be whoever uses your xbox that modified it. If it was M$ you would know ;)
