Slay Or Not To Slay
« on: April 01, 2005, 01:36:00 PM »

Just a few questions before I decide to install Slayer Evox 2.6 or not.

I have a modded xbox ( not a new one had it for a few years ) with executer 2 chip.

Only have stock hard drive in and only want to run 1 game from HD if any at all.

1. Do I need anything else apart from the slayer 2.6 disk ?
2. Do I need to flash the bios and will Slayer 2.6 disk do this for me.
3. If answer to 2 if yes, why do I need to flash the bios ?
4. If after installing evox and I unplug my xbox for a while, will it all go tits up when switching on again because it cant set the clock ? If so isnt that ridiculous ? What if there was a power cut ????
5. Will slayer backup my c and e drive to my pc for me or is this done as soon as you have evox talking to your pc via ftp.
6. If I ever wanted my xbox back as it was, is it easy to put the original dash back ?
7. Ta muchly.

P.S Im shitting it cos knowing me it will go tits up on me and I will have to buy a new xbox :o)

P.P.S I dont have a switch for my chip, its on all the time. If this matters...

1. No
2. no
3. -
4. No. not even if there was a power cut
5. No. You need to do this yourself using either slayers or another evox boot CD to gain FTP access to your xbox. I never bother backing up, but you probably should.
6.Yes. Slayers has a 'restore hard drive to stock' option. Not that you would want to do this.
7.Just do it.

If you don't have a switch to your chip and it's on all the time you can't use XBL if you ever decide to get it ;)

I know. But I use Xbox connect  :D

Thank you for the info everyone. I mite just bite the bullet and have a go. Fingers crossed. Gulp !

Still worried about the clock thing though as I have seen posts were peoples clock needs setting after power off and because they dont have the default dash their xbox wont have any of it and it gives error 16.

Does the slayer 2.6 fix this as it installs so this cant happen ?
