Network Drop Out
« on: February 11, 2005, 11:15:00 PM »

i have a 2nd ethernet card hooked directly to my xbox, and i can connect to the ftp. usually i can transfer stuff for about 5minutes then the network drops, and i lose connection to the xbox.

i can remedy this by going into network connections in windows xp, disabling the connection, and enabling it again.

anyway, im just wondering why it chooses to drop out every 5minutes when neither the PC, xbox, or network setup are changed at all.

im used to streaming movies and music over and now i have to worry about it cutting out in the middle for no apparent reason.

anyone have a solution for this? thanks in advance.

EDIT: just realized whenever the network drops, it leaves a ghost connection on my xbox and it wont delete unfinished files cause it thinks my other ghost connection is still uploading.  can fix that by rebooting the xbox

getting worse, now its dropping every minute or so (its always random)..cant even finish transferring a 700mb xvid
