Ftp Prob
« on: January 21, 2005, 06:05:00 AM »

I'm not sure this is the right forum to post this but it'll have to do. Ok I cannot FTP to my xbox from this computer. I have another computer that I use to FTP to the xbox and it is working fine. But everytime I try to FTP from this computer it doesn't work. I am using flashfxp on both computers. So what I am trying to say is that I can FTP to the box on one comp but not on the other.

Thank you

Can you give us a little more info?  Like what OS is on each computer, IP addresses, firewalls, etc...

Read the tutorial in my sig.  Read the troubleshooting steps in there and when you post follow step 8...

Thanks that helped a lot. I worked out that it was a firewall that was blocking the port and have since fixed it and now it is fine. Thanks again.

OMG, it's doing it again. I got it working for like 2 transfers then it disconnected itself and now everytime i try to connect to the xbox, Flashftp trys connecting itself to the internet. When i refuse to connect it to the internet it comes up with this error.

"WinSock 2.0
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.3 -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21
[R] Connection failed (10061: Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1"

But when i do let it connect to the internet it says this-

"WinSock 2.0
[R] Connecting to 192.168.0.3 -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21
[R] Connected to 192.168.0.3
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1"

I am positive all the firewalls are allowing the NIC port.

Post all your settings as per #8 I believe in the troubleshooting step.  Like an ipconfig /all from your pc, evox settings, etc.

Ok these are my network settings in EvoX.

[Network]

SetupNetwork   = Yes
StaticIP                   = Yes
Ip      = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask   = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway   = 192.168.0.1
DNS1      = 0.0.0.0
DNS2      = 0.0.0.0

I am connecting up to xbox with a crossover cable going from an NIC in my computer to the xbox's ethernet port/or watever its called.
I am using Flashftp 3.0.2 full version. The options are default except passive mode is unchecked. Both my zonealarm and windows xbox firewalls are allowing the NIC port and Flashftp. Whenever I try to connect to the xbox using flash zonealarm asks me to connect to the internet. When I agree it says this:

[R] Connecting to Xbox -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21
[R] Connected to Xbox
[R] Connection failed (Connection lost)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

When I don't agree to let it connect to the internet it says this:

[R] Connecting to Xbox -> IP=192.168.0.3 PORT=21
[R] Connection failed (10061: Connection refused)
[R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1

oh and whenever i try to 'ipconfig/all' in run a black box comes up for like half a second then disappears. am i doing the wrong thing???

in run type cmd and hit enter.  Then in the black box that comes up type the ipconfig /all and post it here.

So your ethernet adapter 2 doesn't have an IP address at all and I'll assume that is the one you are connecting to the xbox.  Whichever one you are connecting to the xbox needs to have an ip of something like 192.168.0.2
