Videos On Some Ntsc Games Not Working Properly
« on: October 25, 2004, 07:31:00 PM »

I have a PAL modchipped xbox but I have a lot of  NTSC games, most of my import games work perfectly but I am having problems with some games during fmv sequences. So far the problem games are:
Metal Gear Solid 2
Silent Hill 4
Bloodrayne 1,2
And now Otogi 2

The movies in the games will keep stuttering and delay so that the sound will play a few seconds in front of the video through the whole sequence.
I have updated my bios multiple times, ran the games off the hdd and tried a few of my friends xbox's, all different models with different chips, but nothing affects the playback quality.

Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks

Either running the games in PAL60 or changing my region to NTSC with the enigmah video mode switcher does the trick for me.

The only way for me to play these games is to switch the eeprom to NTSC with enigmah video mode switcher or the built-in function in smartXX.

There are people that say they work with UnleashX, force games to ntsc mode and stuff but that doesn't work for me or anybody else I know.

The problem with these games is that they run i pal50 even that pal60 is enabled in the dashboard. Deus Ex Invisible War, Thief: Deadly Shadow & Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon has the same problem.

The best way to solve this problem would be to find a way to force these games to run in pal60.
