I modded my xbox about a year ago with a xecuter 2.5 soldered chip. Everything worked great...untill yesterday. I turned it on and I get the following. There is no executer logo on boot up and then I get error 16. I tried a boot cd and it does not detect the cd-rw or dvd-r. On the first bank I had the Cromwell and on the second bank I had the xecuter bios. Niether banks seem to work. The blue light on the chip is on and the green light on the external switch is. I am thinking that the bios on the chip was somehow erased in a power surge that we had. I am thinking I need a programer to reflash the chip or order a new mod chip. Can anyone confirm or refute this for me.
