Softmodding Not Working, Slayers Not Working

ok so my bro just bought a new manbox a couple of weeks ago. it's kernal 5838 and dashboard 5960. i have successfully softmodded about 4 older manboxes either through exploits or hotswapping. So i tried to hotswap this new xbox and no luck. I put my hd in his xbox, red blinking light service error 6. i hotswapped/and used slayers auto installer, evox 3935, still red light service error 6. i don't know what to do, i used slayers to get his hd back to retail manbox status and it works just doesn't play burns. so any suggestions? i believe service error 6 is a dashboard initializing failure or something but i am out of ideas. can you not softmod new xboxes?
