Making A Component Or Vgacable For 1.6 Xbox.
« on: October 25, 2004, 11:05:00 AM »

Most guides i found deals with a <1.6 xbox, so does anybody know how to make a cable that can do component or vga with a 1.6 xbox (Xcaliber). My plasma-screen takes a component or vga input so any of those to will do.

Also are there any vga bios available for a 1.6 if that is needed?

Thanks,

1.6 VGA bios

That bios is pretty limited right now, so I'd just make a component cable instead...

I'm pretty sure the video pinout is still the same on 1.6's, otherwise MS would have to develop new video cords, which would be pointless and expensive. I have a 1.6 and I was able to switch video cords with my friend's 1.1 Xbox, so I don't think there's any difference in the video pinouts.

As far as making a component or vga cable, look for that thread called "Ultimate guide to hi def output" or something along those lines. It has a decent layout that you can use to make vga/component cables as needed.
