verify the files by launching them with BoXplorer.  If they are, replace the dashboard with a new one.  (slayers are ussally a little old anyway)

well about the bios m8plus is the newer version so it should be better but either one will work.
as for the dashboards, the real purpose is to replace the stock slayer dash.  I only say this because I hear a lot of problems with it and I'm thinking it could be the problem in your case.

well, download the latest dash of evox, unrar it, use ftp to put the files in the C drive.

or....

get BoXplorer on a disk, and include the evox files.
boot the xbox off the disk, then copy the files to the C drive.

one more thing, don't forget to edit the ini file to your current settings.
