I Must Be Doing Something Wrong.

I don't know exactly what that tutorial was for on the team xecuter site.  It sounds like your trying to make a boot disk that enables FTP.  There are plenty of tutorials on this website for that.  When you made the disk to flash your bios, it was probabally created like this tut.

http://www.x-scene.c...s/flashbios.php

remember that although this tutorial is for flashing, the nero settings still need to be the same.  Make sure that your boot disk is configured the way this tut says.
I reccomend only using evox.  Also, I assume that you did this, but did you rename the dash to default.xbe on the boot disk?  I'm just giving suggestions.  good luck.

Also, make sure you don't forget the dummy file. Go out and download a dummy file creator, the make a 650mb dummy and burn it on the disc with your dash.

I've been using a 250 meg Dummy file called 0dummy.bin (Using the dummy file creator).

Should it be bigger? Does this matter?

For Clarification:

I already have my BIOS flashed. All of that stuff is already done. I just want to set up a dashboard, which I can't seem to do. I can get the dashboard disks to be recognized (I get the Disc Cannot Be Recognized error).

*le sigh*.

I've expanded my search to UnleashX, and anything I can get my hands on.

I simply can't get my Xbox to recognize my discs, and it's the most frusturating thing.

What could I be doing wrong?

I tried reflashing my Mod Chip to 1 Meg, because someone had said in another post that that worked.

No dice. No recognition.

get a copy of slayers or superdisc , burn and install, couldn't be easier. Both these discs will enable ftp so you can connect and install dash on xbox hd.

The big advantage with this approach is that it eliminats the steps on creating an iso (with dummyfiles and so on) and the possible faults you can do then. It also eliminats burning the iso wrong , because filesystem format and such is already in the iso. Foolproof.

I've burnt Slayers. Doesn't work at all. (By that I mean, it still won't recognize).

And, in my experience, if your Xbox is flashing Green/Red, then the BIOS is incompatible. I tried to use a 1.0-1.5 BIOS on my 1.6, and that's what it did, until I reflashed it.

Hey,
I just want to join WG in his evox loading problem. I honestly think it's the drive we've got WG... Because everyone else seems to just be like "i popped it right in and it just loaded!" grr.gif  I've done A BUNCH of research on this... I've gotten all types of dashboards, media, installers, burners, programs, BioS, etc etc etc.......!!!!
NONE of them have worked. Im quite possitive I'm making this .iso right... It's just this damn Samsung drive!!!!!!! I've used the following media...
Maxell DVD+R
Fujifilm DVD-R
Verbatim DVD-R
Verbatim CD-RW
Memorex DVD+RW
Sony CD-R
Maxell CD-R
Imation CD-R
Hi-Val CD-R

Samsungs are suppossed to be the most accepting drive!!! Therefore CD-R's are allowed, some have told me that the newer ones aren't... So I quit using em. I'm getting ready to invest in some Ritek discs because they're suppossed 2 b the best.... Let's see if they can handle my stuck up Samsung... blink.gif
I've also used...
Craxtion
xISOv115
Qwix
IsoMaker1.21
and to burn...
Nero
DVDDecrypter
Ulead

NOW, shouldn't ONE of those have worked??? Am I doing this wrong or is my Samsung drive just never gonna accept anything?

The Samsung drives take anything I put in them.  Its either that your doing the disks wrong, or your drive is muffed.  have you tried using a dvd drive from another Xbox?

sad.gif  I figure yr very correct Rufus... But WHAT am I doing wrong? I've used many tutorials and walkthroughs and I've followed them all correctly. As far as trying a different drive, I have no way of doing that... I don't have one or a friend with a modded box. However, my chip is solderless, so I could easily take it out and install it into a diff box..... I'd rather it work on mine..... dry.gif

If you've tried a bunch of tuts, then I think that it would be difficult to beleive that YOU messed up on every one of them.  It sounds like your drive is too picky.

There were 2 times when I had the same problem as you.  The first time I made a boot disk I'd forgotten to rename the dash as default.xbe on the disk.  The second time was when I did my first Xbox that had the P.O.S. Thomson drive in it.  I spent 2 days trying different things, nothging worked until I swapped the drive with a samsung for the initial boot.

Good luck.

well i've got XS Filter - Links to Xbox Warez and Torrents **'s auto installer which gives the file straight to you. There's no way I could mess up the file because you don't do anything to it... you just burn it. I deff think that my drive is just much too picky, but b4 I go through the trouble of getting a different drive I think I still want to try a Ritek, just to be sure. Oh, and WG, you haven't posted lately, u still there? I wanna noe if you got yours to work, maybe we both did something wrong or you figured out what it takes!
Taffy 55, bye bye sleep.gif

Edit:
Hey I just found this... PC DVD DRIVE I just happen to have a top of the line DVD drive sitting here... I wouldn't really want to use it all the time, but do you think it would allow me to boot evox? And do you think it would have to be in .xiso or .iso??? Interesting... muhaha.gif
