you need to ftp your xbox to your pc so you can change and rename your files once you do that your xbox will boot your dashboard instead of using your boot disk.

your screen should be split into 2 on your left side is your pc hdd and on your right side is your xbox hdd.on your pc make a c and e folder so you want to backup your c and e drive from your xbox to your c and e folder on your pc.after you done that open up your d folder from your xbox and you should see your default.xbe file transfer that file to your pc and evox.ini file also after you copied them rename the default.xbe to xboxdash.xbe.after renaming go into the c folder on your xbox hdd you will see xboxdash.xbe rename that to msxboxdash.xbe after that transfer your xboxdash.xbe and your evox.ini from your pc to your xbox c folder.now disconnect flash fxp take your boot disk out and reboot your xbox and it should load your evox dashboard.

listen very carefully while i explain you,you cant access your evox.ini from flash fxp it will not open so what you will have to do is go to your pc and access your evox.ini and make your changes very important that you save after your done.now put your boot disk in your xbox open flash fxp go into the c file delete the evox.ini thats in there on your xbox after that go into your pc side where you have your evox.ini that you just changed and transfer that one to your xbox c folder.oh by the way take the evox.ini out of your f folder does not belong.your xbox c drive should have your xboxdash.xbe,msxboxdash.xbe,evox.ini go ahead and rename the evoxdash.xbe back to xboxdash.xbe thats in your c drive see if that helps then post back.

so now you cant even ftp your xbox thats strange I helped you every which way I can i'm puzzled.I too have a xenium not ice with 120gb wd hdd but I have the X2 4983.06 bios. and I installed my evox dashboard in my first time without any problems.I would start from scratch if you get the chance to ftp your xbox again delete everything you have in your c and e folder you did make a backup copy i assume of your c and e.try booting up your xbox with the boot disk again and go through the steps one more time.when you are about to start transfering stuff and renaming things let me know and i will try to guide you.another question where abouts do you live?

Well, I erased everything on c and e file from the xbox and transferred the saved c and e from my pc side.  The only problem I had was that I did not make a backup of my original evox.ini on my f file and I can't remember what it had originally.  But this is the wierd part...Now when I went on flash I now had an evox.ini on my D folder and it was 54 kb whereas the one in the f file was only 20.(?)  So I went through everything that you originally instructed me to and now when I boot the xbox up it goes into an x-disk page where I can load my hdd.  But this now becomes a loop.  So I am guessing somewhere in evox.ini (?) that upon startup a command is keeping it from going on to the hdd.

I have renamed the folders to xboxdash.xbe and msxboxdash.xbe

here is what reads in the beginning of my evox.ini

# Made for x-disk by Firefucker, using vi, listening to Motörhead-Lemmy roX!
# Edit [Network] section to tweak IP settings for your Network if necessary!
AutoLaunchGames   = yes
AutoLaunchDVD   = yes
DVDPlayer   = "\X-DISK\f\Apps\Mediaplayer\DVDX\default.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio   = No
AudioPlayer   = "c:\evoxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive   = Yes
SkinName   = Original
Fahrenheit   = NO
EnableSMART = Yes
UseGDrive = Yes
Screensaver=100
IGR      = No

Oh yeah, I am in Colorado

My buddy sent me all the information I needed to mod my xbox.  I got the hard drive, ICE chip, and he sent me the x-disk.  We both do not have a V1.6 xbox...all he did was put on the chip, put in the new hard drive, load the bios and xdisk and he was up and running.  I did the exact same thing, and I get a bucket or horse crap!

I used to be able to load the disk to boot my hard drive, but now I cannot because it is in a continuous loop from the xdisk to the ms dashboard.  I am about to get a hammer!

I mean if you want you can send me your hdd and I will try to install the dash for you free of charge because it seems like your not going to get it done and I know I would be pissed to if I couldn't install the dash it's pretty much a waste of a good modchip because you cant do nothing with it.

Connect your xbox up to flash fxp and open up your xbox c folder and tell me if you see a skins folder.Your skins folder should be in there along with your msxboxdash.xbe and evoxdash.xbe if it's not in there put it  in there.Post back!
