I'm gonna keep this bumped until someone helps. My xbox is useless to me until I can find a fix. I have searched and searched this forum, but the only thing I have found remotely close is something about adjusting the evox.ini file. But why would I have to do that if everything was working fine, and then all of a sudden, I have no way to get to my apps and games??

Yeah weird indeed.  I had the exact same thing happen to me this morning.  Maybe some virus or something set to this date.  I had similar problems last year that I got a guy to fix and I'm wondering if that wasn't July 31st of last year. It was in the summer I remember....

Anyway, last year it had something to do with a bad dashboard and it might this time too.  When I have that menu, MS dash, reboot, settings, etc.  The buttons all function except the one for MS dashboard, clicking on it does nothing.

My mod which is that TSOP thing the guy did last year, with executor two BIOS is recognized at start-up and back-up games on dvdr play OK.

One thing I'd recommend is keep your xbox plugged in till you get this sorted out.  I unplugged mine last year and when I plugged it back in it would no longer even boot up.

Ok guys i got my problem fixed.

I brought my xbox to my friends house to have him help me out cause i had no idea what was going on and neither did he. He then just deleted my evox dash all together and gave me his. I still kept all my files and everything but the evox was switched out. Now everything works fine.

I hope this works for youguys.

my box has done the same thing....many times.  i have just kept a backup of my evox.ini file and tranfered the new one over whenever it happens.  it really sucks.  i have been trying to find a fix, but no luck so far.   i do know one thing, though.  i'm not sure if it has anything to do with the problem, but my evox.ini file keeps getting longer and longer.  im not sure that it gets longer each time i boot or if it happens when i ftp.  i have no friggin clue what is doing this.
