Problems Installing Evox
« Reply #1 on: July 19, 2004, 11:45:00 AM »

I've burned the ISO onto a maxell cd-rw along with the dummy file (300mb) and whatever else (if anything else is needed).
I've got a Duo-X solder chip installed. I'm not 100% sure if it works, but when I power on in mod-chip enabled mode, the X logo is blue which is the chips BIOS so I'm guessing it does work (it doesn't FRAG on me or anything, it loads up the MS dash just fine).
When I eject and put the EvoX disk in, it just refuses to load it up. Can anybody tell me what to do? I'm not sure whether the disk is working or not. Should I burn to DVD-r or should I do as I saw in a tutorial and buy a Y power cable and plug in a spare CD-R PC drive to read the disk?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks a lot

make sure uve burned the disk right

first of all u should break up the dummy file into 2 ( one named aaa.zip and the other zzz.zip) create the iso using qwix and then burn it onto the cdrw as slow as possible..... after u burn the disk pop it into ur pc's cd/dvd-rom drive and try and open it if u  get an error saying the disk may be corrupt then u did it right

if ur seeing the iso u burned it wrong

if u do the iso burn correctly u will get the error message because . well its an xiso not a regular iso and thats y windows cant read it  ( the xbox however can)

this is how u burn it (using nero)

Open up nero, go to file, then Burn Image, then select all file types at the bottom of the browser box, then browse for the iso you just made. Burn as slow as possible, not only is this good for the xbox, but good practice whenever burning an ISO.

as for the dummy file u can use anything u want u can create dummy files or just use big application files it doesnt really matter ur just wanting to take up more space on the disk
