Slayer Autoinstall Help!
« on: July 18, 2004, 08:55:00 AM »

OK, i just installed my XBIT modchip a few nights ago.  I flashed it with X2 and M8 bios and they are working.  I've made probably a dozen disks with the evox dashboard on them but none of thoese worked.  I used memorex cd-rw, imation cd-rw, sony dvd+rw, and dvd-r disks.  All burned at a low speed.  Burned as a disk image.  I downloaded the slayer auto installer last night and burned the iso file onto a completly new imation and momorex cd-rws.  Still the xbox comes up with a message saying it cant read it.  I dont know if I forgot to do something that was in the instructions (I didnt read it because i could open it).  Ive tried everything i can but still nothing.  Im would realy be thankful for any help.

Thanks in advance!

you should flash bioos with x2 4983.06
and did you mak a dummy file 100 mb or more ?
and did you rename evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe?
did you make evox in xiso format? I recommend qwix to do this.

I have the X2 4981.06 bios.
No i didnt think i need a dummy file for the slayer installer, do I need to make one for it?  I did make a 400mb one for the evox disk but that didnt work either.
yes i renamed it default.exe
Ive used a bunch of prorgams to do xiso but it seams that they just make a regular iso.  And in the slayer autoinstaller i thought you were supposed to just leave it how it is.

Thanks for the response

it's default.xbe not default.exe
dummy file will be abc.bin use dummy file creator
change network setting in evox.ini
and skin folder too
don't need to be in any order
you all set

its all in how u burn the disk. if u pop the disk out after its done close all the burning software and pop the cd/dvd back in and the iso shows up u did it wrong.. u should get an error saying the disk may be corrupt

use qwix  to create the iso with all the files ( 2 50mb dummy files default.xbe skin folder, evox.ini... i actually put the trainers and even the .rar files in my iso but u dont need too) name it whatever the fuck u want

this is from evolutionX.info 's  evolutionX for Dummies tutorial and worked perfect for me

Open up nero, go to file, then Burn Image, then select all file types at the bottom of the browser box, then browse for the iso you just made.  Burn as slow as possible, not only is this good for the xbox, but good practice whenever burning an ISO.

after ur done check to see if u burned it right and ur set

this will work for slayers too

the burn method will work on any type of media altho chances r the xbox will not work with CDR . ur best bet is to go with CD-RW

as long as the mod chip is still functioning and flashed then slayers should work  aslo a evox boot disk ( as discribed above) should aslo work and give u the ftp access to change whatever mistakes uve made

****EDIT****

when checking to see if the media is burned correctly i have to remove it from the burner trey and place it in the dvd rom trey for the error to apper otherwise it just shows up like there is nothing on the cd

I'm using Eethernet cable to a router to my computer.
The dashbord is running directly off a disc and i'm not sure if i have to get it onto the xbox with an auto installer or something else first, for FTP to work. Or is FTP ready once bios are working, oris it enabled through running the disc?
