Slayer Autoinstall Help!

QUOTE (chupinsky27 @ Jul 20 2004, 01:15 PM)
I'm using Eethernet cable to a router to my computer.
The dashbord is running directly off a disc and i'm not sure if i have to get it onto the xbox with an auto installer or something else first, for FTP to work. Or is FTP ready once bios are working, oris it enabled through running the disc?

You will need to edit the evox.ini file on your PC to your network settings, recreate the ISO and reburn your boot disk.

Other than that, use slayers to backup your HD and then install Evox on the XBox. After doing this you will be able to save setting made on the dashboard.

I like to backup first before i install anything on the XBox's HD. So my advise would be to reburn your bootdisk with your network settings.

Having a good bootdisk that gives you network access is important if you ever have to troubleshoot later on.

Hope that helps... biggrin.gif

you need to name evox to evoxdash.xbe and original m$ to xboxdash.xbe or change in evox.ini to look for msxboxdash
for backup games to hdd you need dvd2xbox

use slayers auto installer for the hard drive swap its a whole lot easier then doin it manually..... as for  playing video's if u do the hard drive swap with the latest sl;ayers auto installer it will load ( among other things like dvd2xbox xboxftp ect) Xbox media Player which will work fine to play alot of videos but id upgrade to Xbox Media Center which u can find in the usual places ( ive been wanting to say that forever)

its real easy to set up

just download the file and unzip it into a file on ur computer hard drive . ftp into ur xbox and drop the entire file into the apps folder on ur xbox and ur dun. then its just a matter of tweeking xbmc to the way u want it
