I went and formatted MY F PARTITION WITH 200+ GIGS OF GAMES!!!! LOL *cries*

Am I SOL or is there any way to recover my data?

I dont think so..  you may recover little pieces with software recovery but not all.

At least you learned the hard way...

Get X-Disk English Version at least you have some fun to make you happy or better else get Unleash X-Disk - its awasome!!

Well, fortunately I *do* have most of it backed up ... I'd just rather avoid the 2-day long FTP transfer

You ever try to FTP 240 gigs of games to your XBox?  On my XBox I believe that's something like  20,000 files.  The small files take a lot longer to transfer, as opposed to say, transfering one huge file.  I've found that if a file is under, say 10k, it will take about an eighth-second to transfer.  Just assume that every file is 1k and takes an  eighth-second.  Times 20,000 files, that's about 2,500 seconds, about 42 hours.  Add in the larger files which will obviously take longer than an eighth of a second to transfer, and it takes over 2 days.

Dialup or Cable, no difference.

If you transfer files through a cable, you upload at speeds up to 7mb/s, I believe.

AND SO IT BEGINS!!
Day 1: 80 gigs down, transfering VIA FTP

Also, I grossly misunderestimated the number of files.  I have about 180 gigs (of my 240, wahh!!!) backed up, which contains approx. 60,000 files!

I personally don't see the problem, naturally you own all the games you backed up so just pop'em back and start copying just the ones you want to play.

I don't know about you, but I personally dont have the time to rip 70 games and keep swapping discs.

Perhaps you'd like to come over and do it for me?

it's easy 2 get all your games back

just use the original xbox game cd u got them from  wink.gif

Like I said, if you're willing to sit and rip discs, be my guest.  I'll call you the next time I have this problem  rolleyes.gif

Anyways, 3 days later, I'm back to where I was.

And why have 70 games on the drive?

Because I can.  Isn't that why I bothered to hack the box in the first place?  laugh.gif
