I Need Help Configuring The Ms Dashboard Option!

What BIOS are you using?  If it's an X2 BIOS (4981 or later) then it's not going to allow you to run the MS Dash with the chip enabled (a safeguard against doing a Live update with a hacked BIOS running).

You'll have to rename the MS Dash "xboxdash.xbe", lock the drive and boot the Xbox with the chip disabled to get into those settings.

Hi,

Well as for me,I have the following config:

xbox ver 1 with enigmah,Evox 3935,PBL 1.4,X24981.06,40GB HDD

C partition contents
-----------------------
PBL 1.4 named as xboxdash.xbe
Evox 3935 named as evoxdash.xbe
Ms dash named as msxboxdash.xbe

In evox ini file there's already a built in command to load msdash(have to rename the msdashboard line in evox.ini as the same as your msdash xbe) or you can add a custom menu item to load the msdash.

Example of the evox.ini

[Misc]

AutoLaunchGames   = No
AutoLaunchDVD   = No
DVDPlayer   = "f:\apps\dvdx\default.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio   = No
#AudioPlayer   = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive   = Yes
UseGDrive   = No
SkinName   = Temjin
IGR      = No

Make sure that the name you define here is the same as the msdashboard xbe in c partition.

This is completely untrue!!!

Of course you can get to the MS Dash with the chip enabled and running X2 4981 or higher. I have no idea where you got this from. Otherwise, immediately after flashing your chip for the first time, you'd get an error on bootup!

Keep your Xboxdash.xbe and evoxdash.xbe named as they are. Edit the line in evox.ini to read:

Item "MS Dashboard","C:\xboxdash.xbe" and use the entry in [Misc] that jinsatoemo used.

It WILL work. I have just tried it and I'm running the latest MS dash release.

Well obviously there's a lot more to the MS Dashboard than the executable (xboxdash.xbe). You need the other files in there too!

If you're unsure, then just load up Xbox File explorer and try to run xboxdash.xbe from there. If you're still getting Error 21 then you have dash files missing.

I think I should just copy all of the original x-box hd files to the new HD, that should solve the problem... hopefully
