X-DISK Or Slayer's Installer
« on: April 15, 2004, 03:47:00 AM »

OK, I'm having a little trouble here deciding which installer I want. I'm getting a Xecuter 2.3B Lite+ and I just want to know what's best for me. I have a regular drive so I can't get the regular X-DISK. E:voX-DISK is supposed to be a Slayer-Clone with the updated stuff and Emus. But Slayer's more of a safer choice to go with. And there's alway's the auto-updater for Slayer's to get the updated stuff with Emus.

Thanks.

Have to agree with the 2 posts above. Dont use a n00b disc of ignorance. Do it all yourself otherwise you'll be totally clueless what to do should something screwup in the future.

Manual install is always the best way to do things.

I completely agree, I learned a lot from doing all of the EvolutionX setup myself, an auto-install would have left me clueless   laugh.gif  laugh.gif

I agree with most. Install everything you want manually. If anything goes wrong later or you want to make changes later you'll know where to start from.

I'd use a boot cd for formatting a drive tho. Is that cheating??

My view on this ever popular question is, if you are new, take the time to do it yourself, it will be well worth it.  Once you know what you are doing, if you ever want to redo your xbox or have some friends boxes to do then you can just pop in slayers or xdisk and get it done without thinking about it.  But I think its invaluable to have the base knowledge of doing it yourself from scratch at least once.

i totally agree. we were all newbies at one time and i think that the manual evolutionX install made us more aware of what the hell we are doing. my advise: go with the manual evolutionX install

i have a really nice auto installer easy to understand and fallow dashboards and apps all go in seperatly unless you choose the no clue install. it also gives you the install option of 4 diffrent dashboards. and has a repair option for each of those dashboards. if a mod wants to check it out just leyt me know. it is publicly avalable but without approval i wont say where...

Yes, that's when he calls me round and I help him sort it out. And he supplies dinner and the drinks...works for me! biggrin.gif
