Normal Operating Temperature For Xbox Cpu?
« on: March 27, 2004, 01:20:00 PM »

I have latest evox dash and have been keeping an eye on my temperatures.  What is normal and what is too hot.  Also, I noticed that there is an option for hdd temperature.  Is there a way to enable somehow?  Thanks for the help.

there really is no set temp, it can change dramiticly, it just depends on room temp and how long you keep it on..i did the 12v mod on my xbox and played a few hrs and it stayed about 110F....not all xboxs have the hdd temp probe

Sorry, but this is a classic case of needing to use the search feature! This topic has been covered SO many times.
But seeing as I have been guilty of the same error:
CPU should be range 30C (ish, if you live in Greenland, outdoors) to 65C. At 71C, the Xbox will self-destruct (or maybe just switch off!). Motheboard 49C max.
To use the HD temp, you must have an HD that supports HD temps, so if you upgrade your HD to a bigger one it will undoubtedly have this feature.
Hope this helps.
