Time And Date Reset After Every Reboot
« on: March 08, 2004, 04:54:00 PM »

I am using evoX and 4981.67 executer bios. If I set the time and date in M$ dash, it stays correct until I power off or reboot the xbox... the date gets reset to 12-31-1999 quite often...the time resets also... any ideas?

the xbox doesnt have its own battery, so if the xbox is totaly unplugged or switched off at the socket, it tends to loose the time.

As for losing on reboot that is very odd.

Do you use an sntp server in evox?

It is very odd because from just rebooting Ive never had that problem.

sounds unlikely to be the bios, does the problem happen if you set it, play an orig game with chip off, then switch off and play another then off and check clock.

if it still happens then it'll be the box itself.

And i said sntp smile.gif

sntp = time server
smtp = email server biggrin.gif

k... I tested it without turning the chip on... and playing games, music, and etc for a while...then I powered down... clock was fine...everything was right..then I played a music cd for about 20 minutes... powered down for about 5-10mins, and when I powered on, clock and date were still correct... suggestions?

I have a similar problem my xbox is plugged in all the time and the time is set to a weird date (2089). I'm trying to get xbwatch to work but have yet to get it to connect to a time server. anyone have a good ip for xbwatch?
Also when I go into the MS dash and try to get to my clokc it doesn't load I jsut get a weird moving background thing.
I've been searching for a few days to no avail.

8907 is when the clock isnt set, because evox boots instead of xboxdash it doesnt force you to fix this, you may find things such as gta and mameox will not run

the clock resetting is because u unplugged the xbox or because of the bios, either reflash the bios with m7 or 4981 and it will be fine. If it is the same date all the time and not the bug it is likely to be that it is going back to the 1st available date on the firmware as the dreamcast used to go to 11/11/98 if the memory card lost the battery and was switched off too long
