I start up my xbox with the mod chip on and it loads EvoX fine ... I try to start it up without the chip on and it says my xbox needs service ... I think I might have named the original dash thw wrong name when I put EvoX on it.  Help?

Just turn the chip on, FTP/BoxPlore into the Xbox, and rename or check the xboxdash.xbe file.

if you turn off your chip, and try to load the M$ bios, your hdd will need to be locked buddy. Use ConfigMagic to do it. Its really easy and simple.

I am having the same problem. when my mod chip is turned off my Xbox gives me different error messages.  I have tried patching my MS Dash files with my auto install disk as well as locking the HDD.  I also did the fix with the .ini file and nothing seems to work??? please if anyone knows how to helm me fix this, let me know.

I had the same problem, i fixed it by using the slayer auto install disk. Use the option on the disk that says inst/upg M$ dash

hello every one i have got the same problem isnt there a file missing .xip thats what i have been told i have looked at scrrenshots of other peoples hd and i seen a file .xip forgot the name of it but i didnt remove it so i dont no how it went missing if any one finds a way to fixs this problem post how you did it and can some one that has the ms dash working post a screen shot of there c: drive so i can see whats missing thanks

one .xip file in root, settigs_adhoc.xip

also the msdash needs to be xboxdash.xbe,  and you need the xodash folder and xboxdashdata.whatever folder.   this folder contains many xip's :
