funny, mr robinson.  biggrin.gif

please post the output of your ipconfig from windows (2000, nt, or xp) or winipcgf (95, 98)

maybe try setting the gateway on the pc to the xbox ip addy, and the gateway on the xbox the pc's ip addy?  what do you think, mr robinson (he's the resident network expert around here)

shouldn't that always work?

I think he just needs to troubleshoot the very basics at this point.  Which is why I didn't post anything helpful...
apparently he already posted his ipconfig and it was this:
Description . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : NETGEAR FA311 Fast Ethernet Adapter
Dhcp Enabled . . . . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . . :

and if his evox.ini truly is this:
SetupNetwork = Yes
StaticIP = Yes
Ip = 192.168.0.3
Subnetmask = 255.255.255.0
Defaultgateway =
DNS1 = 0.0.0.0
DNS2 = 0.0.0.0
SetupDelay = 0
SkipIfNoLink = No

AND he is using a known good crossover, no firewalls are on and YET can't even ping his xbox then something very fundamental and basic is going wrong.  Those settings are fine and if you can't even ping then you have to look at your cable, nic driver, firewall, etc... the basics.

do you get a network link light on your NIC when it's plugged into the xbox and it's on?

Maybe your xbox nic is broken.  Have you tried playing xbox live (chip disabled of course) or maybe link halo or something?
