Xbox Won't Boot At All
« on: February 27, 2004, 10:49:00 AM »

ok, so I tried this program called HD_fatXbox_Explorer and it allowed me to read/write to an Xbox hdd in my pc.  I copied the files that I deleted back over from backup and it still didn't boot.  I didn't really think that some files in the cache dir were important, but that's the only thing I've done that I can think of that would cause this to happen.  I guess I'll have to try formatting the drive and then reinstalling evox on it.

ok, I tried putting the original hdd back in just to make sure that it still worked but it didn't.  I'm thinking that it is a hardware problem.  I have no idea what it could be though.  Could anyone help me out at all?  Or does it look like I'm totally screwed?!

I was thinking maybe it was working fine and there was a problem with the audio/video cable, but that wouldn't explain why the dvd-drive doesn't open up at all.

I have the same EXACT problem, after I modded my V1.5 was playing a game (probably 4 hrs total) and it froze, then rebooted and nothing has happened since.

If I boot from standard BIOS I get red/green flashing
If I boot from the Xbit I get steady green but thats it.  DVD drive wont open, no video or audio.

I installed a Xray3 29 wire pre-flashed flashed M7 and it still will not boot.  Only a steady green light.  If I run stock BIOS it flashes Red/Green.

I'm afraid the Motherboard is trashed.  I swapped in basically a new BIOS and it wont even startup or open the DVD drive.   I'm thinking this is common with the newer versions.  I keep reading how people have these problems.

Try deleting evox from the hard drive (if it is on the sock one too), removing the chip (if you can) and make sure everything is back to stock. If all else fails spend the money and get a new mb (they are cheap)
