Did you configure your evox.ini correctly? Static IP to "Yes" and the IP address of what you decided to use?

it`s not norton, i think. are you using router, switch or hub?
you should use X cable with direct ftp (pc-xbox)

Try these settings

PC IP Settings
192.168.0.1
255.255.2550
192.168.0.1

XBOX IP
192.168.0.122 (Set with FTP program)
XBOX User:xbox
XBOX Pass:xbox

Works fine for me using FlashFXP

Also setup FlashFXP with use passive mode unchecked, and check your duplex settings although this won't affect the connection but the speed of transfer, post here again if you have futher problems

Guys i've tried that, and it doesn't work.

Weird thing is, i just connected the xbox, cards and cables to my mates computer, and it worked fine.

I just put everything back in my computer, and i'm still getting "request timed out" when I tried to ping it.

So i'm guessing it must something to do with a firewall, or some software that i've installed on my computer. XP is running on my mates and my machine, anyone know wot it could be? I'm really stuck here!

Have you tried FTP'ing using Internet Explorer? That way no software is being used apart from IE?

Cheers

I had the same problem, after i installed the firewall "zonealarm" on my comp. By disabeling it i now can connect to my xbox. The strange thing is that its only to the xbox i had the problems. I could use ftp to other ftp-servers.

I don't have zone alarm or any other firewall program installed.

Thats why I don't understand the problem i'm getting.

Is there anyone that can help me?

troubleshoting ftp crossover or router

1.pc and xbox ON? (and router or others)
2.correct cable? crossover if you ftp direct from pc to xbox or straight thru with router.
3.nic lights is on? (green and/or orange)
4.(using crossovercable) IP on pc set to 192.168.0.(4)*. Xbox IP set to 192.168.0.(3)** . Edit necessary info as
SITE NAME=XBOX, IP ADDRESS=192.168.0.3(this ip is the address you want to connect, in this case your Xbox),USER NAME=XBOX,PASSWORD=XBOX(usually set to XBOX if not been changed),
PORT=21, under options=all unchecked,
*= this is optional,i use 4 in my ip.
**=usually is this set to 3, universial you may say.
5.using router. reboot every single piece of hardware such as pc,router, modem and xbox AFTER you have plugged the right cables in.
now, you router should send out a ip address to your xbox( make sure dhcp is ENABLE and that "use static ip" on your xbox is set to NO(you have to reboot xbox if you change things in .ini file))
PC settings should be reciving IP and DNS address automatically, (if you have messed with nic configurations, try set to default)
If you`ve done it right, click on settings(xbox) and it should look somethings like this: type=DHCP,IP=(usually somewhere around 192.168.1.197)This is the IP address you recive from router.
LINE STATUS=100/FULL DUPLEX or something.
6.back to ftp. The IP on xbox, edit that into ftp address you try connecting and hit CONNECT BUTTONor whatever you do to make ftp prog. run.
7: if this doesn`t work? I don`t know, it worked for me.
GOOD LUCK
