Problems With Slayers 2.5
« on: January 10, 2004, 12:05:00 AM »

Ok, to make a long story short, I have my original xbox hdd, but its formated. My xbox will boot up the slayers iso, but the ip reads 0.0.0.0 . I've read around everywhere and found no solution (that worked for me) to get a ftp connection.

This would not be a problem if when I chose the option: Rebuild v1.X HD - 4920 (which formats and installs m$dash and evox. However, when I do this, it doesn't work. After finishing, I'll try to reboot without the slayers iso cd in, and I'll get an error code of 13 (unable to load dash).

Is it possible that I need a different bios for that function to work? My adobe files aren't working at the moment, so I couldn't check the slayers instructions to read about it.

I'm sure theres more I can experiment with, but I thought there might be a simple solution to this and someone might have some good advice.

Stats:

Xbox v1.1
Xecuter 2.2 Pro
Xecuter 4977 Bios
Retail hdd

Thanks,
David

the first thing you need to do is get Adobe Acrobat reader 6, then read. The documentation is very clear to why you are getting this error or why it is not booting into a dash after an install.
also if you head entered this or read in the installer thread. These questions of all been answered many times.
get Acrobat reader six start their

your problem is probably the media , you are using.

ok, I was able to get the new version of acrobat and I read through the slayers instructions.

I followed the instructions and I'm getting no results. The document doesn't have any information on what to do if evox doesn't even boot after installing it on a retail hdd. It only has information on what to do if the m$ dash doesn't load (which in the instructions, it asks you to do AFTER you re-boot your xbox to evox WITHOUT the slayers auto installers in, which my xbox isn't doing)

I've tried on a cd-rw and dvd-r, both brand names that I've used for other xbox programs.

So basically I have a formatted retail hdd, and even after installing evox through the slayers, I'm still getting an error 13, which means the dashboard could not be launched.

Any more input?

Thanks,
Dave

Problem solved... ALMOST

My xbox hdd must be bad because it wasn't installing the correctly from the slayers auto installer. I stuck in a 1.3 gig hdd I had laying around and it installed evox just fine. So I'm using that until I buy a 160 gig hdd :)
