Hey. i had the same problem last night on an old xbox that I had just finished modding! It worked fine, so I put it back together, then I got nothing but a black screen, but I tried to boot the EVOX dash from memory (since I had no video). And I heard the flubber sequence (still no video). I eventually exhausted all of the possibilities, so I proceeded to "wiggle" the video cable that comes out of the xbox (near the place where it plugs into the xbox.
AMAZINGLY, I had video again.
It turns out that the cable had been so abused at the joint that it was shorting on occasion, depending upon its orientation.
Hope it helps.

sad.gif I tried a different cable and the same thing. I opened the Media program and the only thing I saw was Settings.  There was two lights on the bottom, amber and red.  I clicked the right trigger and the red light on the bottom of the program came on then I hit "A" and the Xbox shut down.  That was it, no more video.  I don't understand how the software caused me to lose video but it's gone.
Any Ideas? sad.gif

i dont know if this is relevent or even the same problem but it resulted in me replacing the motherboard.

I just did this same thing tonight.  The only difference here is that it doesn't matter whether the mod chip is enabled or disabled.  It just goes through the flubber animation and resets after the sound is done, over & over & over.  The only way I can get anything to change is to unplug the a/v cable on the back of the box.  At least with it unplugged the system boots up (I think) but I have no way of knowing how to change anything back.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

biggrin.gif My problem was solved.  My Xbox got switched to PAL when I used the Multimedia program.  You need to run Video Switch CD. rolleyes.gif
