What DVD drive do you have in your Xbox?  Make sure the brand and type of media you're using is compatible with that drive.

If you have a Thomson (which I'm assuming you do) you're going to have some problems.

i also have a thompson drive and have been unsucessful.  i am on the same boat.....just to make one thing clear though, when u d/l evox, u change the evoxdash.xbe file name to default.xbe.....right? how do we get discs to read on a thompson drive?

ps. what i did to test media is i burned a short clip movie on a few diff brands & formats of dvd's and it loaded fine.

Dont give up keep trying - get a virgin (brandnew) CDRW again - go back and check all your steps carefully

i went out and bought some new cdrw's burned just as before same error tried rebooting the disk @least 30 times still same error , i have come to the conclusion i must be burning something wrong. when i make the 3 files a xiso using simplexiso should it be just one large winrar file , cos when i make iso for pc games they are a winrar file @all  they are a .bin and .cue

please help  also when i click on the winrar file it flashes but thats it is this right?

I am also having this same problem...  Specs:

Xbox Ver. 1.0
Tompson Drive
Xecuter 2.3 lite plus (installed)
Bios: Xecuter2.4980

I burned the Bios to a Fujifilm DVD-RW disc using my Sony DRU-510A DVD Burner and it worked fine... It loaded and was able to flash.  Then I tried loading the evolution X dashboard.  I followed the directions found here: http://lookformeb.bmforums.com/tutorials/

Renamed EVOXDASH.XBE to DEFAULT.XBE, made a 100 MB dummy file name ABC.DAT using (DummyFile.exe), then dragged those 2 files and the "skins" folder and the "evox.ini" and placed them in a folder named Evox.  I then used XISO v 115 to make the folder into an ISO.  Then I opened Nero, selected "Burn Image" and selected the newly created EVOX.ISO i made.  Burned it, no luck.  I get a error #13 evertime i try to load the disc.

ANY IDEAS???

change the name of your dummyfil from abc.dat to 1.dat

It will insure that the dummyfile is burned first and help the thompson read it.

Okay Since you have tried for days and still having problems
Here is some options
1. Get someone you know can help you to come to your house
2. Get someone to send a copy of EvoX Boot Disk to you
3. Download new Evox from different sites - may be yours is corrupted
4. Downlaod Slayers 2.5 form IRC - see what happens when you burn
5. Get me - I could send it to you but the problem I stayed Very South East Part of The
World!! Singapore!
6. Give up - forget all this never happen
